Hike San Pedro Volcano

It will not be just another walk, it will be an unforgettable experience!

Nimajuyu’ is the name in Tzutujil which means “the great volcano”, although it is not the highest around the lake, it reaches a maximum height of 3020m. It is surrounded by two types of forests: mountain forests and humid subtropical forests.

On the top of the San Pedro Volcano, you can enjoy incredible views of the lake and the other surrounding volcanoes.

We have different options, all with a local guide:
Option 2: Depart at 2 am to enjoy the sunrise.
Option 1: Depart at 5:00 or 6:00 am to make sure the sun is not too hot during the hike of 3 to 4 hours.
Option 3: There is also the option of camping at the top of the volcano in a cabin or your own tent. This option has the additional cost of Q100 per person.

Difficulty level: 6.5/10 moderate, the trail is 5km one way. The trail is well-maintained but wide and a long part of it consists of steps.

It includes:
• A local guide
• Transport to the entrance of the Volcano and back
• Entrance Fee

Cost: Q450 for 1 person; Q400 for 2-5 people.
Duration: 4-5 hours of ascent and 3 hours of descent (depending on your physical condition and speed).

Recommendations: Bring some breakfast, enough water, snacks, a jacket for the cold, a headlamp, and hiking boots. You can also buy takeaway food packages in our restaurant.
